Complementary Support Therapies

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a technique that induces relaxation which facilitates the body in its healing process. It can be performed at the pretreatment stage, during treatment and at recovery.  It is a gentle non-invasive technique that can be performed through loose clothing.  It can help reduce scar tissue, inflammation and stimulates body circulation. The treatment can be specific or general, does not need to take long and is tailored to individual client’s needs.

Shibashi is a form of Tai Chi, a gentle exercise program building balance and strength. The Milton-Ulladulla U3A runs a Shibashi course on Thursday morning from 8.30 am - 10 am at Burrill Lake Community Hall. Participants have to be members of U3A - the joining fee is $20 and the class costs $10 for a term. Go to U3A for more details and a membership application.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by 'laying on hands'. Reiki works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
